QUESTIONS ANSWERED...

Working Out: What are the best gym tips you could give for a beginner?

Answer...

  • Try to join a premium gym for a one-year membership plan. This might be a bit costly but it will keep you motivated to hit the gym regularly. You will think twice before skipping the day. This has worked for me. I hope it will work for you too.
  • Personal training (PT) is not necessary unless you are wishing to participate in a bodybuilding competition. PT will also cost you a fortune and they are charged on a session basis. Normally there will be 15 to 20 sessions per month(depending on the gym of course).
  • It is recommended to buy a good quality training shoe from a premium brand. I bought the Puma Pacer which cost around 2k then. It is highly durable and I have been using it for the past 3 years and I still feel the same level of comfort ever since. It looks something like this

  • Never skip the warmups! This is extremely important as it helps to reduce muscle soreness and avoids the risk of causing any injury.
  • Increase your core strength before lifting any weights. Pushups, pullups, squats, Lunges and other ground exercises should be mastered before moving to weight training.
  • Proper posture and breathing should be maintained during the workout. This should be properly analyzed and followed under the supervision of your trainer. If you are doing a lat pulldown workout and you are feeling pain in your arms, then your posture is wrong and should be immediately stopped.
  • When you are doing a workout for a particular part, make sure you are getting enough tension on it. If you are not getting any pain, then again the movement could be wrong. This is the most important thing to notice if you are not getting any gains, irrespective of all the hard work.
  • Stay hydrated. You are going to sweat a lot during the workout. So make sure you drink 300 to 400ml of water before starting the workout. You can also have half a glass every 10 to 15 minutes during your workout.
  • Eat-healthy and stay-healthy.Once you start your workout journey, you’ll become more hungry and needs to eat more to suffice the cravings. Intake more carbs and protein and eat more often. This is for gainers. Now for weight reduction, intake more protein and avoid sugar at all costs. Ask your trainer to provide you a diet plan. And throw those junk foods away.
  • Get enough sleep. This is the most underrated phase in bodybuilding. Your muscle-building won’t take place during the workout, but when you rest. Not getting enough sleep can cause serious repercussions both physically and mentally.
  • Don’t take advice from the wrong people. If you are stuck somewhere when working out and is having a doubt whether you are doing it right or not, go and ask your trainer. Don’t ask the person near to you. They might tell you how to do it without giving a proper explanation on which part it gets affected and what type of breathing should you do and at what weight should you start with. That’s why the trainers are there for.
  • Always remember why you joined the gym when you feel demotivated or lazy. Or even watch a couple of weight lifting videos on youtube. This will instantly motivate you and gets the job done.

Working Out: What are the best gym tips you could give for a beginner?

Answer...

Let me go one step backwards, "tips for someone who wants to start working out"

1. Choosing a gym
While most of you would instinctively think that you should find a gym within walking distance of less than 5 minutes, I would suggest finding a gym at-least 1 km away(roughly 10 minute walk). And make sure you go walking, not on your bike. You can prefer bicycle if you want to save time though.
However, this is not a hard and fast rule. If you have a better gym opposite to your building, go for it, but then make sure you warm-up properly before working out. Warming up is important to increase blood circulation. 10-15 minutes of warm-up is recommended.
Other things to be considered before choosing the gym is ofcourse the reputation, how well courteous the trainers/staff are, how hygienic the gym is, both the workout area, cardio section and bathrooms/steam room etc. Lookout for what type of people come there. You can get a general perception about this by the fees you pay.

2. Choosing a time
While this is completely dependent on you, as to what is your office/college time, it may also depend on how much crowd is there at the gym. I prefer a time when there are least people in the gym. This also depends on when you are the most energetic(both mentally and physically).

(now that you have joined your gym..)

3.Setting a goal
Set a proper goal, with numbers. Not just "I want to reduce/gain weight". It should be specific. "I want to reduce/gain 5 kg within 3 months". Consult your trainer before you make such goals, considering you are new to this. Remind yourself everyday of this goal. Talk about it to your friends/family.

4. Plan out Exercises accordingly
I am not sure about other countries, but typically in India, the trainers don't consider much(there are exceptions ofcourse) about individuals and their limitations/capabilities. Hence they recommend a standard regime. This should be followed for not more than 3-4 weeks. Within that time, you should be able to discover your limitations and capabilities.

Best 101 Gym Trainer: Why You Need One

When it comes to achieving your fitness goals, having a knowledgeable and experienced trainer by your side can make all the difference. But not all fitness trainers are created equal - which is why finding the best 101 gym trainer should be a top priority. Here’s why:

Personalized Coaching

One of the key benefits of having a 101 gym trainer is the personalized coaching you’ll receive. A great trainer will take the time to understand your fitness goals, current fitness level, lifestyle habits, and any injuries or limitations you may have. With this information, they’ll create a customized workout plan designed specifically for you. This ensures that your workouts are challenging and effective, but also safe and tailored to your needs and preferences.

Motivation and Accountability

It can be easy to fall off-track when it comes to working out, especially if you’re working out alone. A 101 gym trainer, however, will keep you motivated and accountable. They’ll push
